Spoons

The classic artificial lure. For decades unchanged, but still one of the best artificial lures for spin fishing in the sea. Under certain circumstances, the metal spoon can be the best option for spin fishing for European sea bass.

An exceptional lure, not just in muddy waters. Can be slowly led through currents and easily brought back when the tide goes slack. Quite a number of European sea bass have been caught snapping after these bouncy herring-shaped spoons.

Twister & shads
are the lures of choice when currents become stronger during tide changes. The weight of the lead heads should be adjusted to the currents. If they are too heavy the soft plastic bait will hit sea bottom like a rock and you risk losing it.

Always fish with the current. Cast shad or twister far up-stream. As soon as bottom is hit, lift and lower the tip of the rod to impart a lively wobble. The color of the soft plastic bait depends on the mood of the fish: mother-of-pearl in light-blue, blue, yellow or fluorine-colored green. Once the right color is found, the soft plastic baits always cause a catch.

Bucktail jigs

If you want to improve a twisters catch ability, bucktail jigs are a perfect solution. In the Netherlands you won’t find one European sea bass lure box without them.

It doesn’t matter if you’re fishing from a boat or from the shore: the combination of jig and twister is often the hidden ace when all else seems to fail and European sea bass are ignoring even the best artificial lures.
Plugs

The artificial bait which is found in the largest variety for luring our spiny-finned friends. There seem to be infinite colors and shapes, as well as various types close to surface or bottom waters. No matter the situation, the diving lip will find a solution.
The wobblers with a kick: you really score during stand-still phases of tidal currents.

Reeled in like a torpedo, the saltwater basses bite hit like a bomb. Don’t worry, the European sea bass can swim quicker than you can reel plugs in. Depending on weather conditions, use a deep diving plug when the sun is high. In the morning or evening hours, the spiny-finned knights errand roam in higher water levels, more likely to consume shallow-diving wobblers. Make sure to adjust your drag well or else the European sea bass will leave you with a loud snap of the nylon leader.
Old school

As early as the end of the seventies, European sea bass fanatics were experimenting with all kinds of artificial lures, but none could beat wobblers. Up to today they have wobbled their way up to first place at the European coast. Even in the new high-tech millennium no European sea bass lure box is found without them because they simply catch better in certain situations.
Modern style

High-tech wobblers from the Far East, made with a precise love of detail, are more than simple diving lips, but little pieces of art.

Due to the cleverly-devised inner casting system, relatively lightweight wobblers can be thrown longer distances dead straight. The wobblers’ movement not only impresses fishermen, even the usually suspicious European sea bass are often fooled by the almost perfect fish imitation.
